Privacy at TabTray
We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we collect as little as we need to run the product. Here's what that means in practice.
The short version
- No accounts, no sign-up, no email required to use the app.
- We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve TabTray.
- We never collect your tab titles, URLs, or anything from your Figma files.
- We don't sell or share your data with anyone outside the small list of services below.
What we collect
Anonymous usage data. We use a privacy-focused analytics service to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example, how many people open a feature or what version of macOS is most common. This data is anonymous by design; we cannot identify you from it, and we don't try to.
Purchase and license data. When you buy TabTray, our payment provider collects what's needed to process the purchase and issue you a license. When you activate that license, we receive what's needed to verify it.
That's it. We don't run a crash reporter, we don't track your behavior across the internet, and we don't profile you.
What stays on your Mac
The list of your open Figma files, the folders you create, your settings, and your license activation are stored locally on your Mac. None of this is uploaded to us.
Third parties we use
- Our payment provider processes purchases and manages license keys. Read their privacy policy →
- Our analytics provider receives the anonymous usage data described above. Read their privacy policy →
- Our hosting provider serves
tabtray.appand the app's update files. Read their privacy policy →
Permissions TabTray asks for
- Automation for the Figma desktop app — so TabTray can switch tabs when you click them.
- Accessibility (only if you set a global hotkey) — so the hotkey works from any app.
- Login Items (only if you enable "Start at login") — so TabTray opens when you sign in.
You can revoke any of these in System Settings → Privacy & Security at any time.
Your data, your control
To delete everything TabTray stored on your Mac, drag the app to the Trash and remove the TabTray folder inside ~/Library/Application Support/.
To deactivate your license on a Mac (e.g. before selling it), open Settings → License → Deactivate this Mac.
To request access to or deletion of your purchase data, email hello@keepsies.io.
Children
TabTray is a tool for designers and developers. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For anything material, we'll post a note on tabtray.app.
